Volunteer Sign-Ups Open for the Landscape Committee

Published: September 5, 2026

Category: Board Notice

Posted By: Devonshire HOA Board of Trustees

Devonshire is seeking 2 to 3 resident volunteers to assist the board with seasonal landscape oversight and community grounds planning.

While our commercial contractor handles routine weekly mowing, edging, and seasonal turf care, this advisory committee serves as the board’s eyes and ears on the ground. It ensures our shared entrance, common buffers, and planting beds remain healthy, appealing, and cost-effective throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

The committee meets informally 3 to 4 times per year and assists with straightforward advisory tasks:

  • Quarterly Grounds Walkthroughs: Participating in seasonal perimeter walks to identify dead shrubs, tree branches requiring clearance, or damaged irrigation heads.

  • Entrance Bed Refresh Ideas: Offering input on seasonal annuals (spring bulbs, summer blooms, fall mums) planted at the primary Devonshire entrance sign.

  • Contractor Performance Feedback: Relaying observations regarding mowing consistency, weed management, and leaf cleanup to the board prior to contractor renewal discussions.

  • Special Project Proposals: Researching low-water native plantings or erosion solutions for common drainage areas.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 1 to 2 hours per month, with peak activity during spring planting and fall cleanup transitions.

  • No professional landscaping experience is necessary—just an interest in keeping Devonshire well-maintained and curb appeal high.

How to Join

If you would like to participate or learn more about the role, please submit your name and address through the Contact the Board form or speak with a trustee directly. Volunteer selections will be confirmed at our upcoming board meeting.
